Nature our source of inspiration

Chef Laurent Chabert's cuisine is refined and local products feature largely in his dishes. Head Chef at L’Art de Vivre since 2014, Laurent Chabert comes from a family of livestock breeders that instilled in him a passion for top quality produce and the pleasure of working with the same small farmers since the beginning, building on strong friendships.

Laurent Chabert loves cooking. The produce guides him in his creations. He even has his own vegetable garden and fruit orchard, where he grows the herbs that give his cuisine its notable Mediterranean feel.

With his staff, the chef offers you modern, creative fare all year long, honoring organic ingredients and biodiversity pairing with all Gérard Bertrand Grands Vins and Estate wines all available by the glass.

Absolutely terrific experience

We had a romantic package which included the 5 course dinner. Everything, the food, the wine, and the service was spectacular in every way. The timing and explanation of the servers was perfect. We are foodies and have traveled the world and eaten in the top restaurants in the world. This restaurant deserves all five stars. Highly recommend.

Lovely Evening

Chose to eat here on the last night of a holiday in the area. Very pleasant ambience. Food was interesting and beautifully presented. Discovery menu represented excellent value for money given the quality of what was on offer. Service was exemplary - friendly and attentive with no hint of pretension. Would certainly recommend and will return here when visiting Narbonne again.

Outstanding food and service

We stayed at the hotel and visited the restaurant twice. The service was outstanding and they catered for my dietary requirements so carefully. I was very grateful. The food was art - beautiful and extremely tasty, so many flavours! The second time we went to the jazz evening where we had three courses with mini courses in between. The wine was matched perfectly to our food and the music was atmospheric. A wonderful experience - food and wine to die for. Worth paying for.

Meticulously Prepared, Artful Food, Presented Slowly with Excellent Wines

This restaurant presents wonderfully creative and artistically designed food that is worth the high prices that are charged not just because the cost of the ingredients must be high but also because each dish must be prepared with the attentiveness of a traditional Swiss watchmaker! We ate two dinners at the restaurant; both were menus. The first night we had the “flagship” menu that was a part of the “package” we bought: five courses plus extras and (for an additional fee) wine pairings with each of the five courses. Each course was presented with an explanation that also included a mention of the paired wine being served.

We had lunch here one thursday lunch time. We opted for the Discovery Menu at 39 Euros. We began with an amuse-bouche which certainly amused the pallet. My starter was mili-melo of tomatoes with gazpacho and a wonderful basil sorbet and my husband had the trout. The main courses were an equally wonderful fillet of drum fish and young goat. After a sorbet my husband chose a dessert of hazelnut ice cream in a brandysnap and I had the cheese. The service was excellent, the ambience superb. They even turned up the aircon when we asked. The local director checked reguarly on his clients and we were able to buy our favourite wine afterwards in the Cave. A totally memorable experience. We cant wait to come back

Having a holiday home within minutes of the Château I’ve ever only been twice before and that was going back 10 or so years. I think what had put me off returning was the menu that is displayed outside the restaurant. I visit the cave every trip and often go and look at the menu but whether it was a case of it not being appealing or descriptive enough it never appealed However we took friends yesterday and I am now hooked and it will be a regular stop for me and any guests we have visiting I think the waitress we had was a huge help as she was excellent at describing the options. We chose the 5 course tasting menu and the unlimited wine card The food was amazing. The combination of flavours was extraordinary and the chef is obviously an artist at his craft I tried things I would never normally consider like oysters eel and pigeon but they were presented so well and so delicious that I would certainly do it again The staff are attentive and the ambience is perfect. You know you are somewhere special without it being pretentious A definite must to anyone I can only kick myself for ignoring the restaurant for the last 8 -10 years

Warm, a great culinary experience. On top of the set menu, there are appetizers between each course. Felix Ju

Absolutely wonderful 🤩

The staff was exceptional: Caroline and Claire who took care of us were perfect: advice, smiles, humor and kindness. The 7-course menu was excellent, and the wines were as good as their dishes. Thank you so much for a fantastic evening. See you very soon.
